What is this RSS stuff?

RSS news feeds and RSS feeds, are rapidly becoming the medium of choice for retrieving content and information on the internet. More and more savvy Internet surfers have discovered the ease of use and time saving process of accessing RSS feeds. RSS stands for (Rich Site Summary) or (Really Simple Syndication) it uses xml (extensible Markup Language) formats such as rdf, rss or xml. I hope your not lost already :) Website Owners use an RSS Feeds filetype:RSS (written in xml) to announce news, website updates, and events (or any other announcements). to their readership.

Internet Surfers use RSS news feeds, RSS feeds to quickly check current headlines, weather, or new articles on the sites that they have subscribed to. This new style of acquiring content and information from the internet saves the surfer TIME.

The old way of gathering this information was by visiting a search engine, then surfing through pages of irrelevant results only to go back and refine your search and start over! Either that or you access pages stored in your favourites menu. Either way it takes you lots of time sifting through results until you find the information you are looking for. RSS tool types, rss feeds are changing all that.

RSS feeds have enabled Internet Surfers to use browser based RSS services online (via a website) or an RSS Reader called an aggregator (software installed on their PC) to read RSS Feeds.

RSS Software:

If you are using RSS tool types for RSS feeds such as an RSS reader or Aggregator simply copy and paste this URL into your Reader. Or alternatively right click on the RSS/XML icon and select copy Link. Then you can paste the link into your favourite reader.
