To David :(

I bet you thought I was dead and buried huh? Ha Ha Well Im not :) and nor is The Executioner! Your favorite bot and ours. Well actually it is dead and good riddance to :) Bloody machine has cost me 20 grand one failed relationship and numerous headaches! So I have killed it! Stripped it bare and sold ALL the hydraulics to the Storm team for 500 quid. And promptly built another bloody robot!! Called The Executioner Evo 2.

So what happened to us in RW series 5 then? Well we turned up ready and we sat while all around was in frantic dissaray :) We tested ok and we sat and we waited. Opposite us were the Pussycat team and no small amount of banter was going back and forwards because they just new we were going to beat them and were very scared ha ha. I have done many things in my life and have to say I have never felt so damned nervous.

Anyway little test before our bowt and bang no radio signal after about 10 feet WTF! Why? How? Whats going on. Frantic :( hands everywhere from 5 teams, wire soldering irons etc etc. We thought it was the arial so rigged a dodgy one (very dodgy) and we were off. Strait out and got pussycat in a grip :) as planned! Start to drag her to the pit and I lose control. Told Ian to let them go and that was that I guess. Intermittant control at best for the rest of the bowt and we lost! Bummer. To top the day off Matilda ripped our blade clean off. I will get her.

So after all the hype we were crap ROFL ah this game makes you cry! Oh well we tried our best and we did enjoy ourselves and we havent given up. And I will still hype us up because I enjoy it :) On a very very sad note Alans Son Died shortly after filming series 5 on his motorbike :( and although I didnt really know the lad very well we had shared some moments of great banter at series 5 :) I think about that often and it saddens me. Ah life huh, so fragile! We live it balanced on a thread. My thoughts to Davids family from my heart.

I shall end this diary there as a tribute to David as I didnt want to say that and then just move on prattling about robots. So heres to you David your memory lives on.

Mark...
