Internet Marketing: Service or Sales?

Do you think you provide a service to your customers or do you just sell?

As far as I am concerned service only ever begins AFTER a sale. Anyone can sell anyone a product or book etc but that's not service. Learn how to service your customers needs and you will have customers for life and not just one off sales.

How can you achieve this end? Well how about answering all emails promptly. Answering questions in a helpfull manner. Customers are much more likley to build a long term relationship with you if you are helpful and prompt.

lets face it without customers who BUY from you what are you? What is your business? A hobby?!

Hi Mark,

I loved this post. I read your blog browsing on BlogExplosion. I like the service vs. sales approach however I would like to point out service actually begins before the sale most of the times.

Good service will lead to a sale if you meet the customers need through your service. A long term relationship begins with good service after the sale and you hit that nail square on the head.

Good ol Blog Explosion :) ive had some nice trafic from there to be honest.

Yes service and sales. I know what you mean and I do agree. I was trying to show however that most companys fall flat once they have your money! Oh yes they might buy you cigars and wine a plenty to get the sale and you could call that service! But what about afterwards? Most companys spend millions getting a customer and then just let them slip away because of poor service :(
