Niche Marketing: Successfully Representing Your Niche

No doubt, you've heard of Niche Marketing, and you may even have identified your own little corner of the market to bring you the profits that you want. Unfortunately, though, as useful, practical, and - for many businesses - essential as niche marketing may be to the success of an online business, all too many niches are being poorly represented by the businesses that have chosen them.

After all of that work to discover needs that have not yet been met, and finding a way for offered products and services to meet those needs, it can be catastrophic if you fail to pay enough attention to this business focus, or if you do so in the wrong way.

Niche marketing isn't something that can be done halfway if you intend to use it as a step toward your success. You need to do it properly, and follow it through to have it work for you.

To find out if your niche marketing is working for you, ask yourself if you have taken the following steps:

- Have you done some research to find an angle in your industry that meets a previously un-met need?

- Have you created - or reworked - your website to reflect this new direction?

- Have you listed all of the keywords and synonyms that best reflect your niche, and then used your own searches, or software that will show you what kind of results will be achievable by optimizing your site with those words and terms?

- Have you maintained the effort with your search engine optimized (SEO) site and followed up on your research by finding out what is and is not working?

- Have you tweaked your site according to what you found in the previous step?

If you have not been seeing any results after several months have passed, then you may need to redefine your niche - perhaps the one you have chosen is saturated. Otherwise, you will need to alter your site once more to better reflect the new mission of your business.

This effort will strengthen your efficacy, and will build on your income in a reliable and measurable way. Remember, niche marketing isn't just something that you can do in one day and then leave to its own devices. Instead, it is something that you will need to establish and then maintain regularly in order to achieve the greatest possible successes.

Niche Marketing: Create Your Own Killer Message

Most small business and home business owners mistakenly believe that the best way to get the most sales is to try marketing to the largest number of people in the widest possible market. However, taking a corporation point of view such as this one, when you are only a small business can only lead to struggle. Marketing becomes prohibitively expensive, and not as effective as it needs to be.

Today, all small businesses face a terrible amount of competition, no matter their market or industry. In combination with too much information, it means that it’s extremely challenging to try to get your business to stand out when you’re using a generic message that will appeal to everyone. There are just too many other businesses out there who are trying to say and provide the exact same thing, and the market appears saturated, when it doesn’t need to be.

In order to break away from this struggle, you need to create a niche-focused business message. This will create your own special niche that will stand above the din.

To do this, there are a few steps that you can take to help you achieve great results without having to spend very much money. The first step is to focus on the needs that have yet to be met among your target market. Then, come up with a unique little corner within that marketplace that flows from these basic elements:

• Narrow your focus and create more opportunities by speaking directly to the people most interested in your products or services, instead of just taking a shot in the dark at everyone, and spreading your marketing dollars too thin

• Build a reputation of expertise in your niche by writing articles and getting them published all over the web. There are lots of great places that allow you to submit your articles for free. Once you’re seen as a resource, you’ll also be seen as a trusted advisor, and people will naturally come to you when they need you.

• Share what you know. By providing lots of great information, customers will seek you out, instead of you having to seek them out.

• Offer products and services that are original – that is, you can’t get them anywhere else. This way, you can charge just a bit more.

By creating this superior level of niche as a marketing strategy, you’ll be playing in your own field instead of trying to compete against businesses that have better resources and finances.

Niche Marketing: Before Giving it Everything, Find Out Your Chances of Success

It doesn’t matter how much you may think your business idea is the best thing that ever happened to the planet, if you rush into things and don’t do your homework, you may be presented with some unpleasant surprises. The key to a successful business is to know not to invest your time and your hard-earned cash until you’re sure that there is some real potential for profit. Any business failure is a disappointment, but it can be extremely disastrous if it is associated with thousands of dollars and a huge amount of effort that has lead to nothing – and that it could have been prevented.

To find out your odds of success, use the following techniques and look carefully at the results you come up with:

• Ask yourself if you would buy the product that you are intending to sell. If you have any doubts at all, then you should probably think about changing your business idea.

• Ask your friends and family if they would find your product valuable. Make sure that they feel comfortable giving you an honest answer and don’t just tell you that it’s a good product so that they don’t hurt your feelings. If they have any suggestions for changes that would make the product even more valuable to them, make sure that they tell you and that you write them down.

• Try to guess at the actual size of your market niche audience. Use the internet to help you out. Use a search engine and try to find information about potential competitors, mailing lists, news letters, and other online resources that will give you an indication of how many people out there are interested in what you have to offer. You’ll also learn how to make your product stand out from what is already out there. Just make sure that your target niche isn’t too big or small. You need to be able to handle it, but still make a profit!

Niche Marketing: Find a Market Size that You can Handle

These days, everybody seems to be talking about “niche” marketing; but what is this strange sounding phrase, and how does it apply to your business? Actually, if you have a small business, then niche marketing should be your best friend. If you haven’t already established this relationship, it’s time to get going. After all, you’re a business of limited size and means, and you can’t take on those enormous companies such as Amazon and Wal-Mart that are simply too large to compete with. Instead, take on a corner of the market where you won’t have to compete with those huge budgets for advertising and price cuts.

Niche marketing begins, therefore, with identifying that corner of the market where you will excel. The trick here is to find one that is the right size. If it’s too big, you won’t be able to compete. If it’s too small, there won’t be a large enough number of sales to keep you profitable. To find your niche, you’ll need to do a bit of homework. Get to know your industry very well. Look around online, get a hold of some trade publications or hobby magazines, and, if possible, ask around. Once you’ve got a grasp of what’s out there, find an empty little part of that market that is waiting for you to fill it.

With your niche market, you’ll then need to have a niche product. After all, it’s all well and good to know where you fit, but if you don’t have anything to offer, you can’t make any sales! One great way to find a good niche product is to use a keyword software program, such as the free ones offered online. They’ll let you know what people are looking for from companies like yours. Then, you’re all set to make it happen.

Niche Marketing: Adsense Traffic

So how do we get traffic to our adsense sites? This really depends on what type of site you have. Is it a REAL business or just a pure adsense site.

If it's a real business with adsense ads on the site then you need to be looking at

1. Raw SEO results
2. PPC campaigns
3. Email marketing
4. Paid for advertising on high traffic sites
5. A blog
6. Links on other sites you got for FREE

All of the above will produce varying amounts of traffic to your site.

Now if your site is justs an adsense site I.E. you just have reams of copy and articles but no real product per se then you have problems.

1. Raw SEO traffic is just NOT going to work in the short term unless it's a very specialized niche that noone else is in! The reason for this is that with a new domain your up against the age aglorithmn! You also will have no natural links built over time because you have not time on your side your new.

2. PPC is a waste of money because you have no product you only have adsense ads! You would have to monitor your ad spend very closely.

3. Email marketing could work if you include links in your newsletter etc to your content and then those people click your adsense ads but then you need a list to mail too.

4. Paid for advertising on high traffic sites. Could work but again its costing you and you're not selling anything your trying to get people to click your adsense ads.

5. A blog. Yes maybe. It's FREE and you can have links to your content and those people might click your adsense ads! Might.

Oh dear that's not looking good is it? Not in the short term anyways! It boils down to this. For a pure adsense site you need FREE traffic and lots of it too, and the best FREE traffic comes from links on other websites or from the engines. Both of these you have to WORK for to get over time. So forget EASY adsense sites as a model for fast bucks.

Long term yes you can setup 1000 sites with great content on them and then work HARD to get links and optimize them and then over time these sites will get traffic naturally.
